Bass Fishing Tips and Tactics

By Alan King When bass fishing, anglers employ a variety of tactics to land their fish. At different types of day, different lures and bait can be employed. Good morning baits are buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. Midday calls for crankbaits or jig-n-pig baits meant to look like crayfish. In the afternoon, plastic worms, fish, lizards, frogs, and fish can help catch the perfect bass. Live bait can work at all times, but has to be kept in good condition so that it will move enticingly when sighted by the fish. Bass will eat almost anything moving, so it is good to keep your line in motion. Bass are cold blooded, and so can only survive and be active in a narrow range of temperatures. They are most active between sixty and seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit. Below fifty degrees or so, their metabolisms slow down, and so does their eating. Sluggish bass are less inclined to take bait. Above eighty degrees, the level of oxygen in the water drop and place the bass under stress. On a warm summer day, the bass are likely to keep to cooler waters where the oxygen levels are higher. Bass are a schooling fish. When you catch one, you will probably catch another in the same area. This means that once you find bass, you should slow down and cast thoroughly into the immediate area to find more. If you are catching and releasing your fish, you should not put them immediately back into the water. Frightened fish can scare others off. Most fishing boats have a live well in which you can keep fish before releasing them. It is especially common to use these live wells in bass fishing tournaments to keep the fish biting at the lures. Schools of bass in deeper waters will tend to clump more tightly together. In shallower water, the school may be more spread out over a larger area. Similarly sized bass will tend to school together. Bass love to congregate near cover and around structures and obstacles in the water. Bridge supports, large rocks, tires, bushes, and weeds all attract bass. These obstacles provide cover for these predatory fish to seek out their prey, as well as protecting them from larger animals that would like to prey on them. Bass are opportunistic feeders. They dont tend to stay where they cant find food, but theyll eat almost anything moving. Crayfish, insects, smaller fish, lizards and frogs can all be part of the bass menu. They have even been known to eat small injured birds. Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Smile More Often

By John Khu The ability to smile is a gift to humans. It not only fills a mood of happiness and positive energy into one’s own soul, but also spreads a feeling of good will, friendship, love, and care for the others to perceive, who happens to be facing you or to whom you are smiling at. Further, a heartening smile is a non-verbal symbol of acceptance, which is very crucial in our social lives, and a gesture that personifies your confidence, eagerness, aptitude, and willingness to perform your duties with full heart. Have you ever heard an HR personnel lecturing on interview skills telling the candidates not to smile at the interviewer before accepting his invitation to take the seat? Or have you ever met a receptionist attending to your queries with a tight lip? In fact, not! No friendly interaction could do away with a broad smile on either of the participant’s faces. This is a universal truth in fact, but restated by our motivation and success-type of gurus. So, it is quite obvious why it is important to learn to smile, even in times when you do not feel to smile at all, but to grin or gnaw. Here are top 5 reasons as to why you should smile more often than how you are today. If you are confident enough that you are smiling very often, please skip this article; it is meant for those poor souls who have not still fathomed the importance of a cheek-to-cheek smile. a) As mentioned earlier, a full hearted smile sets the tone for the rest of the day. It makes one feel good and better and the positive energy a smile brings into oneself is both self perpetuating and infectious. b) A heartening smile makes others also feel welcomed to come and talk to you. c) A smile originating from your inner self is a good enough stress buster. It triggers your hormone production, thus soothing the building tension in you. d) A smile not only peps up your appearance, but it also plays a major role in toning up your facial muscles. Remember, smiling is a subtle exercise in itself. e) Finally, a smile does not cost you anything. And it returns in lot, the results being emotional, social, and biological. Our world is full of sad people, with long faces. Let you also do not add to their already long ranks. Smile yourself into a new life and let others also follow suit. So, next morning, when you get up, make sure that there is a broad smile originating on your lips. Make it a habit to smile and soon you will realize how substantially this little change can transform your life! John Khu is an experience entrepreneur and internet marketer. Ethnic Low Carb Recipes

By AJ Sallis One of the biggest complaints about many Low Carb diets is that you cant enjoy many of the foods that have been a staple in your diet for years. No bread, pasta, potato or rice makes for what may seem like at first a heavenly diet of meat, eggs and cheese but the novelty of eating nothing but steak and chops soon wears off. Many people also think that because they are going low carb that they cant enjoy any ethnic food. This is simply not the case. If you are careful with your carb counting there are plenty of delicious ethnic dishes that you can eat that are all low carb friendly. Thai food maybe one such ethnic food that you crave. Sure you cant eat the rice or noodles but you can whip up a delicious beef or chicken satay. Just make sure you use Splenda instead of brown sugar and also ensure that the peanut butter that you use is sugar free. Feel like Indian? A Palak Paneer, which is essentially Spinach and Cheese, is one of my favourite dishes and best of all you get a break from meat for a meal. Finally if you miss having Chinese try cooking Mabo Tofu a tantalising combination of tofu and beef in a mild Chinese sauce. But, like the satay, watch the sugar and use a corn starch low carb alternative in you are in an induction phase. Using a bit of imagination and getting a couple of good low carb recipe books your low carb dieting can be lot more interesting and enjoyable then you might perhaps think. 5 Tips to Prepare for that First ‘Real’ Job Interview

By Kathy Swann You have graduated high school or college and now youre ready for your first real job. Youve mailed out rsums and have been called in for your first interview. How can you do well at the interview so you wind up being offered the job? 1. Dress professionally. No midriff shirts, low-cut blouses or flip-flops because youre going to work and not the beach. While its not necessary to buy a suit, it is particularly important to look professional. If youre trying to get a job in a conservative office such as an accounting firm, dont dress as if you were going to a concert. If you are applying for a retail position, you have a little more freedom. Rather than list what clothing is and is not acceptable, I would tell you to dress as if you were going to meet one of the most important people in your life- because you are! 2. Make sure you are well-groomed. Dont look as though you just rolled out of bed and couldnt bother to take care of basic personal hygiene. Nothing will make the HR Manager bring the interview to a close faster than unwashed hair, dirty fingernails or body odor. As an employee, you will be a reflection of the company and no customer wants to do business with an unkempt person. 3. Be aware of your body language. A firm handshake at the start of the interview shows you are self-confident. Maintain eye contact, stay relaxed and be attentive to the interviewer. Ask questions and listen thoughtfully to the answers. Think before you answer questions from the interviewer- dont ramble and keep the conversation on the topic. 4. Be prepared for the interview. Research the company beforehand- every business now has a website where you can learn what they do and who their customers are. This shows the interviewer you are interested in the job and took the initiative to find out all you could about the company. 5. Be present in the interview. Ive interviewed candidates who acted as if they were waiting for a bus. They didnt ask questions, but instead just listened to me, and I wasnt really sure if they were paying attention. Be enthusiastic, ask questions and participate in the interview. After listing all the duties required of the position, I asked one candidate if this sounded like something shed be interested in. Her reply was a quiet, I can do the job. She didnt answer my question, she seemed indifferent, and she didnt get the job. If you cant be excited in the interview, youre not going to be energized in the workplace either. First impressions count, and you want to let the interviewer know you want the job, are willing to work hard and will do your best. You might not necessarily be the most qualified candidate, but still land the job because you were the most outstanding one. Good luck! Do You REALLY Want to Enter That New Market?

By Mark Smock Contemplating taking an existing or new product / service into a new market? A systematic analysis of 14 critical market segment attributes should be considered before any additional company resources are applied to any new market pursuit. Sometimes it is obvious that entering a new market is a no brainer or it is perceived as the right thing to do because a competitor has taken the plunge or a handful of existing product or service users, within that market segment, are asking for your market participation. Taking on a new market is an integrative decision process, cutting across a broad number of competitive issues, internal company functions and various targeted organizational entities. A decision of this magnitude should not be taken lightly because of the overall affect it can have on the total direction of your company and prudent use of limited resources. The cost of making a wrong decision here can be significant both in actual capital outlays and the opportunity costs realized of NOT pursuing another, better market alternative. In Al Ries and Jack Trouts, The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing, being FIRST in a new market is everything, first is best! Sometimes deciding to venture into a new market segment just because a competitor did only makes the same decision one of duplicate failure. Anyone who has ever been involved in sales management knows that sales personnel have a tendency to sell what they dont have always trying to solve all of every customers problems no matter whether it makes financial sense for the company they represent or not. Marketing managers also have to learn to systematically justify entering a new market not because a handful of existing market participants have asked them to enter their market. The first step in evaluating the overall merit of entering a new market should be to discuss and determine the applicability of these 14 market segment attributes: 14 Critical Market Segment Attributes 1) The number of products/ services required to effectively compete: * Ideally the more full service you can be the better your chances of success * Customers prefer one-stop shopping, if you cannot provide the complete customer solution package, they have little reason to switch suppliers 2) Capital required to effectively compete: * Understand your costs to enter a new market before you assume your revenues * Sales projections are typically too high and cost estimates too low in new business ventures 3) Long term sales potential: * Accelerating advances in technology reduces long term customer retention possibilities. In many markets customer needs are constantly changing. * Priority should always be give to retention of existing, short term revenue streams, ultimately the best means to fund potential long term growth 4) Relative Profitability: * Is return on investment greater via a new product or pursuing another market? * It is always less costly to grow profits from existing customers in existing markets than to pursue new customers in new markets 5) Ease of product distribution: * New markets are often best penetrated with non traditional distribution/ sales representation * Does this potential market fit with your current distribution structures? 6) Post sale service requirements: * Product/ service information demands of new market customers can require more and new forms of post sale customer service * Technical support for state-of-the-art product/ service offerings can be in limited supply and very costly, difficult to staff 7) Degree of customer loyalty: * Every market has a varying degree of customer loyalty depending on number and quality of competitive product/ service offerings * Do key targeted users within the new market buy on product/ service value or well established relationships with existing suppliers? 8) Time required to get into the market: * Product/ service life cycles in some industries last only a couple of months * Can your company develop, test, certify and fill distribution channels of a short life cycle product/ service within the time frame required? 9) Anticipated competitive response: * New market entrants are greeted with new competitive marketing tactics upon entry by established suppliers who seek retention of existing market share * Will existing pricing levels remain once you have entered the market? * How will market pricing degradation eventually affect your margins and ROI? 10) Number of viable competitors: * If there are a relatively few number of viable competitors participating within the targeted market, it may more than justify your market entry * Sometimes it is less expensive to acquire an existing, resource limited, market participant than try to take market share with a new approach 11) Ability to maintain a technical advantage: * Can you protect your technology within the time frame required to cover your new market entry investment? * Maintaining technical advantages requires quality, technical talent. If your current technical staff is over burdened or limited you will not compete 12) Fit with existing company resources: * Can your company absorb the financial, emotional and physical changes required to effectively compete in the new market? * New markets often require new, certainly more, talent and personnel 13) Fit with established customer perceptions: * How will your existing customers be affected by your pursuit of a new market and new customer base? * It is critical to define and evaluate your existing customers perceptions of all your major strategic moves 14) Financial status of key targeted customers and market share mix: * Are key targeted customers financially stable? * Is there a diverse mix of new market participant market shares? The justification of entry into a new market segment involves effectively identifying viable competitors, relevant target market attributes, competitor and key customer market shares while correctly defining your companys current financial, technical and human resources. For marketing and sales management this 14 market attribute checklist is more intuitive than measurable. However, it is an excellent means to initially come to a pass or fail decision before any additional resources are applied to any market expansion effort. If you want to further quantify this analysis you can numerically weight each market attribute with your own specific market attribute priorities and give numerical grades to any or all new market entry candidates to calculate a weighted value for any new market. Like trying to address any noteworthy marketing challenge, whatever you can do to quantify and measure your potential marketing alternatives, the more relevant your analysis, the better your management decisions will be. Types of Cosmetic Surgery

By Ricardo Silva Cosmetic surgery is a term thrown around with a lot of frequency. The term, however, is rather vague given the fact there are different types of cosmetic surgery. Here is a guide to the different types of cosmetic surgery. The world of cosmetic surgery is growing quickly each year. As time passes, more and more people are looking into the benefits of having cosmetic procedures performed on their bodies and more and more procedures are being developed to fit patients’ needs. While medical science has not yet come up with surgeries that are able to provide solutions to all of the cosmetic problems people have, the many types of cosmetic surgery that are available today are attempting to correct most of the physical issues patients have. The types of cosmetic surgery that are available for patients right now can be loosely grouped into two types: those that add something to the body and those that take something away. Many people are unhappy with the size and shape of parts of their bodies, and they would like to either reduce the size of the body part or increase its size. Liposuction is perhaps the most popular of the procedures that are used to take away unwanted areas of the body. Liposuction involves making a small cut into an area of the body that has too much fat tissue (such as the hips or stomach), and then a cannula is inserted into the cut. The cannula is a small, flexible tube with which the surgeon can dislodge and vacuum out the unwanted fat cells. In this way, stubborn areas of fat that aren’t responding to diet and exercise can be removed. Some of the most popular types of cosmetic surgery, however, involve adding volume to areas of the body. One of these is seen in collagen injections, which plump up the lips. But, the biggest of the addition surgeries is breast augmentation. With this surgery, implants (usually made of saline) are inserted into a woman’s breasts in order to enlarge her cup size. These implants can be modest, and used to enhance breasts that may be undersized or sagging, or large these are usually given to women who are looking to make a big impact. While there are many more types of cosmetic surgery out there, the most popular across all age groups have to be liposuction and breast augmentation. While many people are tempted to jump into getting cosmetic surgery, it’s very important to consult a board certified cosmetic surgeon to find out what is the best procedure for you. Never rush into any type of surgery or cosmetic procedure. Ricardo de Silva is with PlasticSurgeonPractices.com – a directory of cosmetic surgeons. Prepaid Global Roaming Sim Card

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney]John Dulaney In order to understand, let us look into the GSM classifications very briefly. Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), is a world leading standard, first adopted in Europe and then spread through Asia, Africa and Australia, New Zealand, etc. GSM coverage maps are available for nearly all courtiers. It is a digital technology and uses Time Division Multiplexing methods in communication. There are three categories of GSM phones that are available: The dual band GSM phones operate on 900MHz or 1800MHz. These phones will not work with the service providers operating on 850MHz. The tri-band phones have operating frequencies of 900MHz, 1800MHz and 1900MHz bands. These phones will work around the world including North America, but will not work in places where the service providers support only 850MHz. The quad band phones, on the other hand, operates on 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 1900MHZ and therefore would work every where around the world with all the service providers. Therefore, for your international travel, it is necessary that your GSM mobile is a quad band handset for it to work world-wide. Or else, it should atleast support tri-band frequency ranges. If you do not own such a phone, you can always rent one for your travel abroad. Please visit www.planetomni.com/RENT_INFO.shtml for more details. A pre-paid SIM card activates your GSM mobile, without you having to enter into any contract with the service provider. It already has airtime credit included in it, when you purchase such a card. When you have reached the limit of your airtime credit, you may re-charge the card with re-charge vouchers, to extend your credit. The SIM card has a life expectancy of 6 months, after which a you need to purchase a new SIM card. With some service providers, this life expectancy of the SIM card can be increased indefinitely by keeping on recharging the card for your airtime credits. With the pre-paid global SIM card, you get the benefit of having the same number, which you can carry through your journey in different parts of the world. On top of that, the calls that you receive are free of cost, no matter where it is generated from. You save on the charges that you would need to pay for roaming, which you have incurred, if you would take your usual mobile with you. Further, it is doubtful whether your phone would work in the countries you visit, if you do not have a quad band handset. In this scenario, imagine the charges that you would pay to call your business associates or your family at home, from your hotel room. A pre-paid global roaming SIM card has that much saving for you. What do you generally get with your prepaid global roaming SIM card? A starter airtime credit. Free incoming calls. All outgoing calls at local rate. No roaming charge for international calls. International roaming in over 100 countries. A phone number which you can carry through any part of the world. Free incoming SMS. Voicemail. There are no monthly or yearly charges and you dont need to sign any contract. For more information of how you can buy a prepaid global roaming SIM card, visit www.planetomni.com/FAQ_sim.shtml The main fact behind taking a prepaid global SIM card on your next trip abroad is the ‘worry free’ factor, which limits your expenses, which is not the case as in the case of your post paid services. These SIM cards can be re-charged for new airtime credits when-ever you need it. There are many countries, where the service providers allow incoming calls even if you have used up all your airtime credits, which become an important feature with these prepaid SIM cards. Further advantage is that, you avoid the process of credit checks and monthly bills, which becomes an easier way to control your expenditure on the use of your mobile telephone. A prepaid global SIM card is for those who is thinking of using his mobile overseas and do not want to pay the huge roaming charges by taking their GSM mobile along with them. Now, you can buy the SIM card before you leave home and also rent the GSM mobile that will work all over the world. Cell phone use overseas. In 99% of the world the local cellular service standard is called GSM. We use this in the states as well. When combined with a SIM CARD (which usually goes under the battery of the phone) the phone is able to communicate and the SIM CARD also holds the telephone number and memory for pre-paid credit. Rates can be extremely low using this system. For example in 99% of all SIM CARDS incoming calls are free and calls to the states can cost a trifle. Such as, from the UK to the USA 7 cents/minute, from Israel 22 cents, from Australia 27 cents. Yes, USA Dollar cents! There are today even prepaid service providers in the USA offering rates of 10 cents per minute to call anywhere in the US to any type of phone. No contracts, no credit card checks, no bills. Pre-paid always means no minimums no contracts, no obligations. You only pay for the calls made. You’ll need an unlocked GSM tri-band or quadband UNLOCKED phone. You can buy factory unlocked phones and sim cards for more than 170 or the 193 countries on earth from http://www.planetomni.com Tel. # 800-514-2984 Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Dulaney http://EzineArticles.com/?Prepaid-Global-Roaming-Sim-Card&id=294628 reporte del buro de credito gratuito obtain copy of credit report furniture financing bad credit how to read your credit report

Crustacean Nation

By James Pineman Good Eats episode, Crustacean Nation II: Claws is a little different. Instead of taking the very day food and making it accessible, Alton Brown takes an elite food we love and brings it home with simplicity. Essentially, the only character appearing in this one is Alton Brown as, of course, himself. The plot line on this one is really more of a problem. There are certain food luxuries out there, but most of them are either out of our price range or impossible to find. Alton Brown points out that lobster is usually fairly easy to find, fresh, and is more affordable than you think. The problem is that most of us are just too afraid to cook it at home. Jumping right into this one, Alton Brown takes us through the process by starting with how to select a lobster at the local grocery store. After that, he goes through transportation of the crustaceans. Then he explains the storage, preparation, and finally how to carve and eat them, The thorough and easy to understand instructions are a trademark of the show and of Alton Brown himself. One of the great trivial history facts presented in this episode is that in colonial times lobster was considered food for the poor. At one point, servants in Massachusetts went on strike because they did want to be forced to eat lobster more than three times each week. Things have come a long way since those days. This episode, in fact, is loaded with great trivia and history. From learning that lobsters are essentially bugs to finding that they are lower in cholesterol than chicken, there is a lot here to learn. Tip of the episode: If you do not like the idea of trying to kill a lobster on your countertop or in the water, you can put them in the freezer. Their metabolisms drop so far that they do not feel anything and are, in fact, so lethargic that they will not even move when you take them out. Celebrity Chefs such as Alton Brown And Rachael Ray are becoming a staple in the diets of American TV Watchers everywhere. The Crazy Amazing Diet Maker

By Michael Smith, MD This past Christmas Season, as most of us stuffed our faces full of turkey and pies, a well respected weight loss expert from WebMD made some crazy remarks about ending obesity. Needless to say, the response to his rhetoric, despite the Christmas Season, was naughty not nice. Dr. George D. Lundberg, Editor-in-Chief for Medscape General Medicine, had this to say about his “crazy” diet idea: “Ho! Ho! Ho! Here we are in the holiday season right between those 2 great American days of gluttony. What is Scrooge’s holiday greeting this year? It is about overeating, of course. How can we stop the obese from becoming more obese? Pretty simple. Stop feeding them. Think about the other common self-destructive human behaviors. On a commercial airplane, in a saloon, or at a professional sports event, if the customer is deemed to be drunk, the keepers of the booze key will lock the cabinet. If a person drives a car at a dangerous speed, the driver is subject to substantial penalties. For young persons known to be at high risk for early chemical addictions, society tries to prevent exposure to the addicting drugs. Overeating with underexercising is now killing more Americans than anything else except tobacco addiction. Yet, an obese person enters an eating joint, or a supermarket, and buys and eats any and everything he or she wants, and nobody seems to care. Does that make any sense to you? Meanwhile, Big Science strives to understand why people get fat; Big Genetics searches for the obesity gene so that stem cells could correct the flaw; Big Surgery lines up the morbidly obese to shunt their stomachs; Big Pharma seeks the next weight-loss pill that will help more people than it kills; Big Nutrition hawks the newest sure-thing, weight-loss diet; Big Fast Food pushes “healthy food” lines right next to their billion dollar unhealthy food lines; Big Soda and Big School Boards share the profit from drowning kids with calories from vending machines; and Big Exercise pushes group rates for aerobics class. Money made by so many special interests. All this while the simple answer is to stop eating; stop feeding the obese until they are no longer obese. Of course, that may be hard to do, and who makes any money that way? Fat chance for this crazy idea to go anywhere. That’s my opinion. I’m Dr. George Lundberg, Editor of MedGenMed. Happy Holidays!” Now, as you can imagine, health care providers, dieters, and web surfers were not happy with his remarks. They immediately and appropriately attacked, firing back with real science facts, healthy weight loss tips and the benefits of regular exercise. It was nice to see the real experts come out for a day or two and make some noise. One of the experts is Jon Robison, PhD, from Michigan State. He said: “It is truly hard to believe that MedGenMed would print an editorial[1] so scientifically inaccurate and ethically unconscionable (“How to Prevent the Obese From Becoming ‘Obeser’). As a health professional (doctorate in health education and masters degrees in exercise physiology and nutrition), I am even more dismayed that this hateful diatribe was written by a fellow health professional — and a medical doctor no less! Never mind that the doctor is obviously not familiar with the latest information from the CDC [US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention], showing that the link between weight and mortality has likely been greatly exaggerated. Never mind that the analogies to alcohol and illegal drugs are inept at best — hard to imagine abstinence from food as a viable alternative. The most egregious aspects of this editorial are the outright prejudice and moral disgust it portrays. There is certainly no great argument with the contention that many Americans could increase their exercise and eat more healthfully. However, prejudice raises its ugly head when the contention is made that it is possible to discern who is or is not eating or exercising properly by merely looking at the size and shape of one’s body! Most Americans (fat or thin) are not getting enough exercise, and the research is clear that fatness and fitness are not mutually exclusive. Condemning a fat person’s eating, or assuming that a thin person is eating well (can you say anorexia nervosa?), is no different from concluding that a person is less intelligent by looking at the color of his/her skin. Judging people’s intelligence, health, or behaviors based on how they look is not science; it is prejudice — and prejudice has no place in our culture or in our healthcare system. We can do and be so much better than this!” Mary Emerson, MS, a Clinical Dietitian from Spring Harbor Hospital in Westbrook, Maine, had this to say (emphasis added): “You compared your solution of not feeding an obese person[1] to an intoxicated person not being served in a bar, yet we know that that hasn’t cured alcoholism. Gastric bypass surgery is one of the most popular elective surgical procedures. The answer for the cure is far more complex than simply training more surgeons to do the procedure or not allowing overweight people to purchase baked goods. Just as prohibition did not eliminate alcoholism, these measures will not eliminate obesity. Rather, we need to change how we approach our medical care, not to solve the problem once there is a problem, but to achieve a healthier lifestyle with emphasis on not only our physical health, but also our mental health and emotional well-being. I believe that it is very important in mental health to evaluate the risks of obesity on our patients, not in decreasing longevity, but in decreasing the quality of their lives by lowered self-esteem and health complications, such as feeling tired, weak, and unable to take part in many activities that they previously enjoyed.” Wonderful! Finally the truth. No fad diets, no rapid weight loss, no “eat anything you want and still lose weight” lies…just pure science coming from the real experts who care. Maybe Dr. Lundberg isn’t so crazy after all…or maybe he is. Either way, it was a good day! Healthy Living! Michael A.
